My First Issue

We all know that building is not going to be perfect - we all know there are a few problems along the way and the trick is to try and pick up on them as soon as possible so they don't snowball.

So last night I found my first issue. I couldn't actually figure out what the problem was.... I just stared at this one space and kept saying to myself... something just isn't right here.

So anyway then I picked it.... either the stairs are too short or else something is wrong. It was the second, we had build the shower that was sitting under the stairs to have an angled roof, and you know what - they built it flat - 30 courses on both sides instead of 24 courses on one side and 30 courses on the other.

Something so simple and yet I almost missed it...

Oh well the joy of the build, at least we are moving forward

Venice Magic

Well I am booking all my accommodation at the moment for my holiday in September and keep coming across the most amazing hotels... this is one of my favorites and I have decided to spoil us in Venice so we are staying at the Palazzo Barbarigo Sul Canal Grande and it looks heavenly... doesn't it look heavenly.

I cant wait to stay here.... The decor is very different and I kind of like the extravagant almost gothic styling they have used.

May all my other hotels be as inspiring as this one has been.

April's Fools

In honour of April Fools Day I thought I would make sure my team felt "loved".

This is an email I sent them this morning.

"Hi Guys As you may remember – late last year we were talking about a possible team building exercise.

It has been decided that we will all assisting the West Australian Ballet Academy and the WA Youth Advisory Council in a program they currently have going to introducing young children to the arts.

We will each be allocated a child we will all be attending the West Australian Ballet – Enchanted Garden Tea Party to celebrate the opening of Cinderella. Later that afternoon we will be actually be attending the final performance of Cinderella.

Can you all please lock the 21st May into your calendar and I will forward you on the name and contact details of your child as the event draws closer.

Obviously we don’t expect you to dress up but please be aware that you child will be dressing up and if you wish you can, Im sure we would all love to see you boys get into the spirit of the day and struggle into a pair of tights.

All About The Bricks

Im sorry guys but this week its all about the bricks... the house is coming along leaps and bounds and I thought you might be interested in all the windows. I am surprised at just how many windows I have. I also did a bit of very basic photo shopping to give myself a bit of a boost on just where the water will be in regards to my 6 meters of fixed glass.

How lovely - How exciting - How am I going to get through the next 9 months!

Well last week I showed you a few new items I loved from Freedom but one of them really stood out for me.

I want this buffet - like really want this buffet!

Wouldnt it look amazing right here next to my piano - I cant think of a better place to hold all my sheet music!

I would put this print I brought from Ikea on top of it - and cover it in interesting items with lovely splashes of green and some matching cushions on the sofa to tie it all together.

Did I mention I wanted the buffet?

Racing Along

So in one small day they are racing along - I really cant believe just how quick this is going up.

One day it looks like this

And then today it looks like this.... how amazing to see it go up so quickly.

Lets Get Vertical

After a good three months of agonising over the ground my house has finally started to go up ... and by go up I mean walls. How lovely to finally see how its going to look. It looks narrow - we always knew that but to actually see it gives you breath this funny little hitch where you think - wow its narrow.

Its too soon to actually get a good feeling on just how narrow its going to feel inside but at the moment I'm still confident we can pull it off....
